California Department of Justice Crime Lab

The California Department of Justice DNA Crime Lab Facility is a voter referendum mandated laboratory project designed to facilitate the extraction and processing of DNA for criminal investigations. Completed in late 2001, the 60,000 sf facility includes administrative offices, a library, a press room, a missing persons lab, a DNA extraction labs, a DNA database, and training labs. In addition to the tenant improvement aspects of the project, the building, under purchase consideration by the State of California, had to undergo extensive structural and MEP infrastructure improvements such as the inclusion of roof top platforms, equipment screens, and site utility structures.
